The Seniors have picked, and we are headed to Cherokee Nation, North Carolina with TEAMeffort!
Located 916 miles from Grace in western North Carolina, the town of Cherokee is home to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Throughout the area are numerous neighborhoods and families in great need. On this youth mission trip, groups have chance to reach out to these struggling families by helping with home repair and renovation. For this impoverished area, even the smallest amount of help brings new hope. Your youth have an opportunity to put their faith into action through hands-on projects while showing the love of Christ to people who are struggling to survive on the bare minimum.

Lodging:
Groups will stay at Icthus Ministries, a Christian retreat center located at the foot of the Smokey Mountains.
What you need to know!
Cost per person will be $50 higher for TEAMeffort at $349. So our cost per youth will run around $635 per person plus around $125 in travel money. But with fundraisers and Grace’s commitment to mission, your cost to participate will be either $300 or $350. $175 or $225 (to Grace, see fund raisers below) for expenses and $125 for travel money.
We have 35 spots reserved for youth and adults. Ten spots are for the adult sponsors. Please commit by December 31 so if we go over our reservation we can adjust if needed.
Key dates:
- Trip: Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 18
- December 31, 1st Deposit due of $50
- March 22, remaining balance ($125 or $175 see below) due (no refunds after this date)
- Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1: Super Sub Sunday
- Sunday, June 7: Car Wash
Fund Raisers
- Youth will be expected to participate in a minimum of 2 of the 3 fund raisers this year to receive the $175 rate for the trip. The third fundraiser and date is still to be determined by the youth.
Release Forms:
- Release forms for both TEAMeffort and Grace need to be filled out and notarized prior to leaving for the trip. Below are the links to download forms.
What to Bring:
Youth are allowed one large duffel bag/suitcase and one carry on backpack for the trip along with any musical instrument they would like to bring along.

- Friday – 7 pm Lock-in at Grace
- Saturday – 6 am departure for first overnight
- Sunday – Worship, early departure for TEAMeffort site
- Monday – Thursday
- Work site, camp activities and cultural experience
- Friday – Free day activities
- Saturday – early am departure for return overnight
- Sunday – worship, depart for Wichita
