On March 17, 2015, the Presbyterian Church USA (of which Grace is a part) ratified a change to its constitution. This change allows but does not mandate that PCUSA ministers may perform same sex weddings, and PCUSA congregations may hold same sex weddings. Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton shared information about this in an electronic letter to the congregation.
In response to this constitutional change, the Grace Session (governing body) invites you to be part of the conversation. The session will hold three listening sessions. These sessions are designed to be a place where you can come and share what you think about these changes and listen to others. These sessions are designed not as debates but as opportunities to listen and speak. The listening sessions are as follows:
- Tuesday April 14, 6-7 pm, Grace Room 205
- Wednesday April 15, 6-7 pm, Grace Parlor
- Sunday April 19, 4-5 pm, Grace Alcove
Several members of the Session will be present at each session. You are also welcome to talk with them or Catherine individually.Share
