Music Ministry
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir practices at 6:00 pm on Wednesday night. They lead worship almost every Sunday, September to May, in the Sanctuary. New voices are always welcome to join! Contact: Sean Foster
Kakopђonie
Our praise band leads worship weekly at the 9 am service. The band is a set group of people, though on occasion substitutes are needed, so speak up if you have a gift to share. Contact: Bryce Mulkey
Carillonneurs: Hand Bell Choir
Our handbell choir practices on Wednesday at 5:15 and leads worship four to six times a year.
Elevators: Youth Band
Our youth band practices regularly and leads worship at the youth group once a month.
Youth Ministry
Our youth are a central part of Grace Presbyterian Church. Students are the lifeblood and future of Grace and God’s kingdom on earth. During the middle and high school years, Grace youth experience all aspects of church life, from worship and study to leadership and service. Youth are part of the church family and do not walk alone on their faith journey. We believe that a youth’s parents and family are integral partners in that journey.
Drama Team
We always need people to act or direct or help create sets, costumes and props for the skits and dramas we present, which are created to support sermons and messages, primarily during Sunday worship.
Arts Team
The Arts team creates visual arts primarily for our two worship spaces and also for the rest of the building. Members of the arts team bring a variety of gifts. Some are trained artists, others are not, but enjoy the ministry. All are welcome. The team meets on an as needed basis.
Worship Planning Team
Lay leaders are deeply engaged in planning worship in close collaboration with the pastor, using their gifts of teaching, prayer, discernment, etc. Together we grow in discipleship and deepen our faith through thoughtful reflection on scripture and crafting ways to make it resonate and come alive for the congregation.
Prayer Team
We are called to pray without ceasing. Our prayer team members receive updated prayer requests regularly and offer up prayers for our community.
Gardening Team
This group of dedicated gardeners helps keep our grounds looking good, giving of their time and talents to save Grace the cost of hiring a yard crew to maintain our flower beds and lawns.
Mission Opportunities
Good Neighbor Ministry
The Grace Good Neighbor Team partners with the county and city to help homeowners with yard clean-up and small repairs. This team takes on one project a month in late spring through early fall. Call the church office to learn more.
Justice Together Ministry
Grace is a proud member congregation of Justice Together, a network of more than 35 faith organizations who have come together to launch city wide, justice organization. Nehemiah 5 shows us the power of a great assembly of people, united to “do justice together!” At the Nehemiah Assembly we ask the leaders of our city and county to respond to specific, well-researched initiatives such as addressing homelessness and affordable housing in Wichita.
Refugee Ministry
The Refugee Team partners with the Wichita International Rescue Committee to serve refugees in Wichita.
Cuban Partnership
Grace is a partner with the El Centro Presbytery in central Cuba and has close connections with the Placetas Presbyterian church.
Bus Ticket Ministry
What started as a food ministry morphed into an opportunity to help people with their transportation needs. So many in our community struggle with basic transportation. While Wichita has public transit, it is neither very cost-effective if you are poor nor efficient in moving to where you need to go. Each month, Grace gives out bus tickets to people in the community and holds a brief worship service with communion with the community members.
Yellow Bag Food Donations
Each month, we choose an organization to support with tangible donations. Donations vary from month to month and include non-perishable food, school supplies, and hygiene items. Take home a yellow reusable grocery bag on the first Sunday of each month. Return it during the month with your donations.
Missionary Support
We are proud to help financially support the Hurd Family in Kenya and Katie Rhoads in Uganda.
