Yellow Bag January: Cuba

Yellow Bag Sundays

Our congregation heard the call to help needy neighbors this past holiday season and responded with generosity and love.  Members of Grace supported the Alternative Gift Market’s many causes.  We donated toys through the Salvation Army Angel program. Our congregation gifted blankets, coats, hats, and gloves to Operation Holiday.  Food was provided to the Covenant Presbyterian Church’s Food Bank.  It was a fantastic outpouring as we helped others and did what our faith calls us to do.  Thank you, everyone.

We continue to have humanitarian needs in our community and around the world, so our Yellow Bag ministry will continue into 2026.  The January collection will benefit our Cuba partner congregation in Placetas, Cuba.  The needs are significant for Cubans, and there are two ways to help.

First, donate financially by giving through our church.  You may donate online, by check (please identify Cuba in the memo line), or by cash (again, please designate it for Cuba).  These funds will be used to purchase needed items.

Second, you can also donate items as identified below:

Electrolytes (like Propel, Liquid IV), Omeprazole. Acetaminophen for children and adults, antihistamines, ibuprofen, analgesic creams, asthma spray, thermometers, and other items, such as tea bags, small Ziploc bags for storing medications, toothbrushes for children and adults, fabrics and materials (thread, machine needles, etc.) for sewing workshops, and small flashlights for the elderly.

Thank you for your kindness and for showing how Christians can have a positive impact.
