cookies

Cookies for the Community!

It’s time to bake and deliver cookies to our community.  This is the sixth year for our cookie initiative, and we’re excited to again offer a blessing to those who work in our city.  In early February a bulletin board goes up by the coffee bar.  You sign up to either bake two dozen cookies, or you sign up for a location to deliver them.  Locations include places like: fire stations, public library, the hospital ER, and more.

If you sign up to bring cookies you do so on either February 10 or 17.  You bring them to the church kitchen and volunteers package them up for delivery.  On those same days volunteers pick them up and deliver them during the week.

This is a small and valuable way for us to show some love to our community!

Children’s Worship: Sunday, February 3 at 10 am

Be here for One Worship Service on Sunday, February 3, at 10 am, in the Great Room. On this day our children lead us in worship, and Jennifer Snook preaches. Don’t have children in your family? This is your opportunity to support the children of our church and to be blessed by their faithfulness and leadership.

Our annual Congregational Meeting follows the Worship Service.

blood

Red Cross Blood Drive: February 17

  • Every two seconds someone in the US needs blood.
  • One pint of blood (the approximate amount given in a donation) can be used to help up to three people.
  • About 1/3 of the US population is eligible to give blood.
  • Five million patients in the US need blood every year.

On February 17, we host a Red Cross Blood drive at Grace from 8 am – 1 pm.  Sign up to donate on Sundays at Grace, by calling the office – 684-5215, or by going here: http://www.redcrossblood.org/rcbmobile/drive/chooseDonationTime.jsp

You may use the “rapid pass” and save time on the day of your donation.  Go to redcrossblood.org/RapidPass to finish the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online before coming to your appointment.

library

New Year, New Opportunity: Church Library

Does Grace have a library?  Where is the Grace library?  These are questions we hear from time to time, and there is not a simple answer.  It’s been over eight years since Grace had an organized church library. There are two rooms that function in a library fashion (Room 103 and the Study across from the elevator), but neither is a library.

We’re looking for someone (or a few people) interested in books and libraries to organize our spaces and books.  If you’re interested, contact Catherine Neelly Burton catherine@mygpc.org or 684-5212.
