It’s time to bowl!
Join us Sunday, February 25, from 4-6 pm at the Wichita State University Rhatigan Center for bowling, games and snacks.
The cost is $3 a person and includes, bowling, shoes, popcorn, and soda. In addition to bowling, the pool tables and other games are available.
This is an opportunity for us to play and fellowship. Come and bring a friend.
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 14. This year we again have two opportunities for Ash Wednesday worship. The first is Ashes On the Go at Watermark Books. From 7-9 am Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton is at Watermark to mark you with ashes as you start your day. This is an opportunity for you to share your faith both by wearing your ashes and by making a public witness at our neighborhood bookstore. It’s a come and go time, though you’re welcome to get breakfast and stay for a while.
At 7 pm we gather in the Grace Sanctuary for an Ash Wednesday service that includes the imposition of ashes, Holy Communion, and music from our choir.
February 4
Catherine Neelly Burton preaches, and we celebrate the Lord’s Supper at both worship services.
February 11
This is ONE service Sunday with worship at 10 am in the Great Room. Jennifer Snook preaches, and our children lead us. The Grace Presbyterian Annual meeting follows worship.
February 14
This is Ash Wednesday (and Valentine’s Day), the start of Lent. We worship from 7-9 am at Watermark Books and at 7 pm at Grace in the Sanctuary. The morning worship is ‘come and go’ with the imposition of ashes. The evening worship is a full service with choir, communion, and the imposition of ashes. A nursery is provided in the evening.
February 18
This is the first Sunday of Lent. We begin our Lenten series, “I Believe,” by looking at the first section of the Apostles’ Creed. Catherine Neelly Burton preaches, and the text for the day is Mark 1:9-15.
February 25
On this second Sunday of Lent we explore what it means to say, “I believe in Jesus.” Catherine Neelly Burton preaches.
9 am Worship in the Great Room
10 am Education and Fellowship
11 am Worship in the Sanctuary
Worship at 9 am is in the Great Room and is led musically by our band. The style is less formal than the 11 am service. The 11 am service is in the Sanctuary and is led musically by our choirs. The style is more traditional.
There is no Adult Sunday School on February 4. There is no Sunday School for any age on February 11. We worship at One Service at 10 am this day.
Children ages 0-Pre-K
A nursery is available all morning from 8:50 am – 12:15 pm. From 10 am – 10:45 am Colissa Fry leads a Sunday School lesson for these children.
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
Kindergarten – 2nd grade meets in room B10 (in the basement) also known as the ‘Foundation Station.’
3rd – 5th Grades
3rd, 4th, and 5th graders meet in Tower Room (on the 2nd floor).
6-8th graders meet in the Youth Center (downstairs)
9-12th graders meet in the Youth Center (downstairs)
There are three options for adults to participate in Creed book studies on Sunday mornings starting February 18:
This class is for people who do the reading each week and want to come together to talk about it.
This class is for people who may or may not do the reading each week, so a portion of the class is spent watching a video to help everyone catch up.
The Steamers explore Creed as a group.
