Handmade Holiday Market and Community Day: November 23

Everyone is invited to attend the Handmade Holiday Market & Community Day on November 23, from 10 am to 3 pm. at the Child Advocacy Center, 1211 S. Emporia (the old Lincoln Elementary). The market features items from local vendors selling handmade and fair-trade items for your gift-giving. Grace member Cathy Feemster is selling her children’s book, “My Friend Rachel by Shep, the Dog.”

The market is sponsored by Women Empowered, an organization supporting women-made art and goods, women-owned businesses, and charities working with women. And, yes, men and children are welcome! Come and enjoy shopping and interactive stations for all ages.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

This year’s Angel Tree is up and decorated with many deserving Angels and Stars. To participate, just select the one that speaks to your heart, buy a new gift,  attach the bottom of the Angel, or the entire star, to the package, and return it to our tree no later than Monday, December 2. Complete directions are listed near the tree. Thank you for helping a person in need this holiday season!

Hanging of the Greens

Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 am to noon is the Hanging of the Greens. It will be a time of fun and preparation. We decorate the Church, share a soup potluck lunch, bake and deliver cookies, and do a family craft. You can come for all or any part of the day, and that includes lunch.

  • We hang decorations and prepare the entire building for the Christmas season. Our Arts Team will direct this process.
  • We bake cookies to deliver to various agencies around our neighborhood (fire/police/first responders/etc.). If you can’t make the day and want to be involved, please feel free to bring a dozen home-baked cookies to share in our delivery. Mark them for this purpose and drop them off a day or two before December 7.
  • There will be time for family crafting. This is a great opportunity to share the beginning of the Christmas season with your kids, grandkids, and your entire family.
  • Bring your favorite soup or chili to share with everyone. This is a time to share a meal and enjoy the fellowship that is unique to our congregation. We have outlets available for crockpots to stay warm.
