upside downThis Advent, our Children’s Sunday School class looked at different stories: Gabriel’s visit to Mary, Mary and Elizabeth, the angels’ visit to the shepherds, and the Wise Men. On Mary and Elizabeth Sunday, they wrote poems from prompts. Here are some of them:

God Heals Broken Hearts

Even when I’m sad

I know love is special.

God is Jesus.

God Heals Broken Hearts

Even when I’m sad

I know God is there for me.

God Helps People

God is always there

When I’m feeling sad

And when I am happy.

God Turns Things Upside Down

Even when you’re sad.

God Helps People

God is always there

Where I’m feeling sad

And when I am upset.

Our congregation never ceases to amaze with its kindness and caring.  Over the past few weeks, you donated four trunk loads of children’s clothing, blankets, and food to Operation Holiday. Further, your outpouring of generosity helped our congregation fill the wishes of 40 children and 20 elderly adults through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. Thank you for being an example of what this season is about and for giving to those in need in our community.

Grace is blessed with a donation that allows us to offer $500 individual scholarships to students currently enrolled in college, grad school, tech, or skill programs. These scholarships are for any student that is a current member of Grace or has participated in our youth group programs.  To qualify, you must send a request to Kirk at kirk@mygpc.org. He will then contact you with a couple of review questions. Scholarships will only be sent to the learning institution in the student’s name. 15 scholarships are available on a first-come basis.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Kirk.
