Adult Sunday School: February 20

Are you visiting Grace? Would you like to know more about us? Join Pastor Catherine for “Get to Know Grace” on Sunday, February 27, at 10 am in Room 103 (behind the Great Room). This is a chance to ask questions about Grace and learn more about who we are. The class is between worship services and goes for about 45 minutes.
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on March 2. We have two opportunities for Ash Wednesday worship.
Stop by Grace for Ashes on The Go. We’ll have bagels and coffee to go along with prayer and the imposition of ashes. Stop by anytime between 7 and 8:30 am. For many years we held Ashes on the Go at Watermark Books. They no longer have seating in their café, so we’re holding it at Grace this year and are excited to begin Lent this way.
We gather in the Grace Sanctuary for an Ash Wednesday worship service that includes communion and the imposition of ashes. This service is streamed through our Facebook page.
This Lent we’re trying something new. Six PCUSA churches in the Wichita area are coming together for a shared theme and Lenten experience. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on March 2 and culminates during Holy Week, the days leading to Easter, April 17.
Our theme for Lent is “Full to the Brim,” and in addition to sharing a theme we’re sharing pulpits. In an expression of our shared identity as PCUSA congregations, the pastors from the area churches exchange pulpits. Catherine preaches the first Sunday of Lent at the Derby church and the fifth Sunday of Lent at the Westwood church. A pastor from Covenant is at Grace on the first Sunday of Lent, and the pastor from First Wichita preaches at Grace on the fifth Sunday of Lent.
Each winter we ordain and install new officers and say thank you to those who have completed their active service. The following people end their service in February.
In addition, we give thanks for our church officers: president Cathy Feemster, secretary Steve Hooper, and treasurer Bob Ross.
