Jacob’s Learning Ladder December Update

Early in November, Jacob’s Learning Ladder children brought non-perishable food items to school to donate to the food bank. Items were collected and sent to HumanKind Ministries through Operation Holiday.

Our Thanksgiving Program looked very different this year. We filmed each class separately singing their songs. Clips were put together in one video and then shared with families through our YouTube page so we could celebrate Thanksgiving with our families safely.

Children have been busy in their classrooms: voting, making bird feeders, painting. and watching science experiments. The children are also getting ready for Christmas by decorating their classrooms and the office for the season.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder: October 22

Jacob’s Learning Ladder (JLL) kicked off the new school year in September.  At this time, we began using our new security features. The secured access has been successful, and both parents and staff are happy with how it’s working.

Construction is done, and Emily and Nancy moved into their new office at the end of September. They are now on the hunt for large pictures to decorate the walls in the welcome area.

The preschool classes visited the fire station on September 26 and 27. The children really enjoyed getting to tour the station. It was interesting to see where the fireman eat and sleep. The children were able to take turns sitting in a seat of the fire truck, and many of them loved this!  After the visit, the children walked to Edgemoor park for snack and play time. It was a beautiful morning for outdoor play.

During the month of October, the classes are covering several fall topics including autumn changes, night animals, pumpkins, and creepy critters. They are also visiting a pumpkin patch and having classroom Halloween parties.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder

Grace Presbyterian is proud of Jacob’s Learning Ladder (JLL). JLL is a vibrant ministry of our congregation. God’s youngest children fill our church Monday through Friday, and we are honored that their families entrust them to us.

We are grateful for the incredible staff that cares for and teaches these children.

Each winter the staff goes above and beyond what is required of them and puts on two special events, Dad’s Night and Mom’s Night. On those nights the Grace Great Room is transformed based on a particular theme.

Dad’s night this year was a sports theme, and children and their dads (or granddads/uncles/etc) came dressed in their favorite sports paraphernalia and enjoyed games, crafts, and snacks. The pictures with this post are of some of the JLL staff in sports gear from the January event.

Mom’s night comes later in February, and we’re excited for what is to come.

Join us in giving thanks to God for this incredible ministry.
