Muffin Time…May 7!

We love our Jacob’s Learning Ladder families! And we like to show our appreciation each spring by hosting “Muffins in the Morning”. As our parents drop off their children, we offer them a muffin and a cup of delicious coffee to thank them for choosing our preschool. Signup sheets for muffin bakers and coffee servers will be up on the bulletin board near the coffee bar starting April 21. Muffins need to be dropped off to the kitchen by Monday, May 5. Thank you for participating and showing our parents, we really appreciate them!

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Updates

The children and staff at Jacob’s Learning Ladder (JLL) have had a busy spring. We had Ms. Amy Woolf share The Very Hungry Caterpillar story with each classroom. We had parent/teacher conferences and a successful Scholastic Book Fair. The children have been enjoying the nice weather and playing outside a lot, searching for bugs and planting our garden. We even squeezed in a couple of bike days before the rain!

Children and staff enjoyed our annual field trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo. JLL staff celebrated a great school year at a Wichita WindSurge Baseball game. Now we’re getting ready for Promotion Programs and looking forward to summer!

Muffins in the Morning: April 19

We love being the home of Jacob’s Learning Ladder (JLL).  This Grace ministry has supported families in Wichita for over 35 years.

Having young children and getting them to JLL before heading to work can be a lot for parents.

To make the morning a bit less hectic, we serve muffins and coffee as parents bring their children to JLL for the day.

Please help us with this “act of kindness and thanksgiving” by either bringing muffins or serving that morning.  Sign up on the bulletin board at Grace or call the church office at 316-684-5215.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Summer

JLL has had a very busy summer! In June we had Water Day on the front lawn and participated in Vacation Bible School. In July we celebrated July Fourth with a parade around the building. We also took a Field Trip to Botanica to visit the “Washed Ashore” exhibit and to explore the gardens.

Summer is a good time for inside activities – we melted old crayons in a muffin tin to see what would happen! We also had a Drive-In Movie Day complete with cardboard box cars and popcorn! To wrap up our summer, we had a Bike-Wash Water Day. The staff at JLL is busy as ever getting ready for a new school year.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Renovations

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Renovations

Our Jacob’s Learning Ladder (JLL) directors Emily Stoltz and Nancy Morrow have worked hard to apply for and receive multiple grants in the last 12 months.  These grants have allowed for upgrades to the JLL facilities.

Below are before and after pictures of classroom windows as well as children’s bathrooms. Teachers report that the new windows are not drafty, and it is fun to see outside. The bathroom sinks now have two sinks instead of one in each bathroom, and hand washing time has sped up considerably.
