Session Minute Summary: November 2022

  • The Grace Session met on November 21 at 6 pm, in the church parlor, and on Zoom. The meeting was opened with a devotional by Bill Vavra.
  • The Session voted to approve a new welcome statement. Catherine will share this in the weekly enews and Grace This Week.  Elders Ben Juhnke, Elyse Scholl, and Jody Webster volunteered to write paragraphs about why they think this is important.  Their thoughts will also go in the enews and GTW.  This is the new statement:

WELCOME STATEMENT 

Grace Presbyterian Church warmly invites and welcomes all who seek to deepen their relationship with God.  Our church practices acceptance and welcomes all people regardless of race, disability, gender, sexuality, politics, or socioeconomic status. We invite all people to fully participate in the life and ministries at Grace Presbyterian.  We seek all people, including the LGBTQ community, for positions of leadership and service in Grace Presbyterian based on our understanding and evidence of their faith, character, and maturity.

  • Financial reports were given and received. Other reports were received.
  • Refurbishing of the baptismal font wooden base for the sanctuary is going well. A new bowl has been ordered from Karg Glass.
  • The 2023 budget process was discussed.
  • The meeting was closed in prayer.
