The IPNC is now actively receiving information about possible candidates to serve as our Interim Pastor. In addition to connecting through the PCUSA portal, they are also reaching out to seminaries for referrals and to get the word out. They meet weekly to review candidates and encourage applications.
Choir: We’re gearing up for a new season with our choir and bell choir. The choir starts rehearsals on Wednesday, August 30, at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. Choir members rehearse weekly on Wednesdays and lead worship at the 11:00 am service on Sundays. If you like to sing, we would love to have you join us at any point in the season!
Bell choir: Rehearsals start Wednesday, September 6, from 5:15-6:00 pm in the bell choir room. Bells meet weekly for rehearsal and lead worship at the 11:00 am service every 4-6 weeks. Whether you’re an experienced ringer or a beginner, we would love to welcome you to our group.
The Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the 2026 class of Elders, Deacons, and Trustees. We are also looking for members to serve on the Jacobs Learning Ladder Board and new members of the Nominating Committee. Most terms are three years with one meeting a month. Please consider nominating members of our church who can lead and serve our congregation as we move into the future. We also ask that you prayerfully consider if you are willing to serve in a certain position, as we will accept self-nominations. Please place paper nominations in the box in the Narthex or contact Bill Vavra at vavraavconsult@powwwer.net.
A Pastoral Nominating Committee will be created in the future, and although we’ll accept names at any time, the actual committee will not be formed until after our Interim Minister is in place. Serving on a Board at Grace does not eliminate members from also serving on the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC). Thank you!
All Grace members, 80 and older, are invited to join the deacons for lunch on Saturday, August 26, at 11:30 am in the Grace Great Room. Dress in your best 50’s poodle skirt or jeans, and join us for some fun! RSVP to the church at 316-684-5215 by August 15. You are welcome to bring a friend or driver.
