Events

Gardeners are needed to help God beautify our grounds. The gardening team works most Thursday mornings during the summer from 8 – 11 am, planting flowers, weeding, watering, trimming shrubs, picking up leaves and maintaining the gardens and parking areas.

While we currently have a small core of dedicated workers, we need four additional helpers. Youth are welcome. No heavy lifting or special skill required, just a desire to help and be with like-minded people.

Are you a quilter?  Are you interested in making quilts to donate?  The Mission Distribution Team designated funds to help pay for quilting supplies.  Initially the quilts will go to the International Rescue Committee for new refugee families in Wichita.  In time the quilts might go to other organizations.  If you’re interested in participating in this project contact Esther Cummins, 295-3100, or Catherine Neelly Burton, 684-5215.

In March of 2015 we began Laundry Love with a $5000 grant from the Presbytery of Southern Kansas. This grant allowed us to wash clothes for approximately 500 people over 2 years.  With an average of 3 loads per person, that’s 1500 loads of laundry. The grant also paid for detergent and the occasional snacks for our guests.

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community.  This happens on the 15^th of the month, or if the 15^th is a weekend we meet the Friday before.  Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 6:30 am in the Grace alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 7:50 am.

We invite all guests to a brief worship service with communion in the Great Room at 7:35.
