January 1

Start the new year with worship! We worship at 10 am in the Great Room on New Year’s day. On this day we celebrate the arrival of the Wise Men at the stable, and we begin our theme, “New Year: Same Promises.”  We celebrate the Lord’s Supper together this day. Catherine Neelly Burton preaches.

January 8

We continue our theme “New Year Same Promises” and look at Jesus’ baptism in Matthew 3.  Catherine Neelly Burton preaches.  Our confirmation class makes public professions of faith in worship this day.

January 15

On this final Sunday of our “New Year: Same Promises” theme, we look at Matthew 4:12-23. Catherine Neelly Burton preaches, and we ordain and install officers in worship.

January 22

On this Sunday, we explore the 23rd Psalm in worship. A team of Grace members began planning this service in November and is excited to lead the congregation this day.

January 29

This is our annual children led worship service. Whether or not you have children, your participation this day is an incredible way to show support to children and families in this church, and you will be blessed by their leadership. Jennifer Snook preaches this day.

9 am           Worship in the Great Room

10 am         Education and Fellowship

11 am         Worship in the Sanctuary

Worship at 9 am is in the Great Room and is led musically by our band. The style is less formal than the 11 am service.  The 11 am service is in the Sanctuary and is led musically by our choirs. The style is more traditional.

There is no Sunday School on January 1 and January 29.  On those Sundays we worship at 10 am in the Great Room.

Here’s where you will find education and fellowship opportunities at 10 am for January 8, 15, and 22.

 Adults

All adults are invited to the Great Room on January 8, 15, and 22.  The Christian Discipleship Team is excited to welcome Dr. Matthew Umbarger from Newman University as our speaker. His topic is What does that have to do with me? A look at Old Testament concepts: Sacrifice, Covenant, Purity Laws. Dr. Umbarger will teach from 10-10:45 am.

On Sunday, January 22, our worship focuses on the 23rd Psalm.

A group of Grace members is planning the service and leads us that day.  We’re looking for images of joy to project on the screen during worship, and we need your help.

Be creative. Take pictures, draw pictures, and send your images to Catherine@mypc.org by January 15, 2017.
