Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community.  This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is on a weekend we meet the Friday before.  Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 6:30 am in the Grace Alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 7:50 am.

We can always use volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and ticket distribution.  Want to help?  Contact Kirk Anderson, kirk@mygpc.org or 684-5215.

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter. This month yellow bags become decorated bags. The Messy Church worshipers decorated bags to be used this month, so please take one of those and bring it back with food. In May our contributions go to the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church food pantry.  All non-perishable food items are welcome.

Upstairs at Grace is a room filled with sewing machines and fabric. Over many years different people have filled the room with different mission sewing projects as their goals  About two years ago Grace Quilters began to meet regularly with the goal of making quilts and blankets for Wichita refugee families.

In 2017 the quilters made more than two dozen quilts and blankets, and we blessed them in worship, and shared with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). This spring the quilters had another large batch of quilts and blankets, and on April 15, 2018, we blessed them in worship. They were delivered to the IRC that week and were received with joy. The picture is of staff members holding the quilts. The staff noted how much families love to receive the homemade quilts and blankets.

We recognize our high school and college graduates in worship on Sunday, May 6. If you would like your graduate recognized, please email the following information to kirk@mygpc.org by April 27 or just drop off at his office. Please send picture (head shot preferably), school, awards, short bio with family, activities and future plans.
