Love and Logic Parenting: Teens, Tots, and Technology

Love and Logic Parenting prepares children for the real world using models and teaching the Four Steps to Responsibility. In the upcoming workshops we focus on Teens/Tots & Technology and some techniques to use to keep kids safe with screens.

As parents we sometimes run out of answers and out of breath trying to communicate with our kids. This way of talking to children gives you specific answers and actions for some the difficult moments in child-rearing. These simple techniques are effective with all children, from toddler to teens. It will change your life and the lives of your children.

Plan to meet with us November 12, 19, 26 and December 3 in Room 103 from 10 am-10:45 am.

Jennifer Snook and Cindy Dethloff teach this class. Questions? Contact Jennifer, 684-5215.

Messy Church: November 19, 2017

Life is messy.  Church is for messy people.

Messy Church is an interactive worship experience targeted at children eight and under and their families. It meets once a month, and the next gathering is November 19, at 4:30 pm.

Messy Church is a way for young people and their families to encounter God through story, craft, music, and prayer.  It is a little chaotic, a little messy, joyful, authentic, and the time always closes with a free dinner.  The whole thing goes for about an hour, but sometimes people stick around and talk.

Messy Church is for church people and for people who don’t go to church.

We’re not perfect. We don’t expect you to be either.  Come and get messy with us.

Yellow Bag Sundays

Yellow Bag Sundays, November 2017

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter.  In November and December our contributions go to Operation Holiday. Operation Holiday is a mission of Interfaith Ministries. Operation Holiday expects to serve over 13,000 people this year.

Alternative Gifts Market: November 11

gifts

We need your help staffing our table at the upcoming Alternative Gift Market on Saturday, November 11. It’s easy and fun. Look at the bulletin board by the coffee bar for the times we need volunteers and support another mission project of Grace.

Speaking of the Alternative Gift Market, do you find it hard to buy a gift for a family member, friend or colleague? The Alternative Gift Market is an excellent place to shop for that person and giving them a gift that shows you care for them and for those in need.

Our Church’s “cause” this year is ending hunger and homelessness in the US and Canada.  We are one of over 40 causes that are being represented and supported by the market.
