The Presbytery of Southern Kansas is hosting two visitors from El Centro Presbytery, our partner presbytery in Cuba.  They are visiting different PSK churches from Oct 5 – 9.

On Wednesday, October 8, Grace is hosting a Meet and Greet coffee in the parlor from 9:00 to 10:30 am, allowing our members to meet and visit with Maykel and Jorge.

It will be a time when we can share with them about our ministries at Grace and learn about what’s going on in Cuba. Please join us in giving them a big Grace welcome!

It’s Race Day next Sunday, October 12, 2025, and that means Douglas Avenue is closed from downtown to the City of Eastborough. Please allow sufficient time to arrive at church and the surrounding areas.

We are making another trip to Cuba to visit our brothers and sisters in Christ at Placetas Presbyterian Church in November.  In addition to the over-the-counter medications that they are always in need of, they have shared a list of craft items they would like for their children’s ministry and some decorative items for their sanctuary for Advent.

Please consider making a monetary gift to help us purchase these items for their congregation. Just note “Cuba” on your donation. Here is a sample of what is being requested: Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Low-dose aspirin, Antidiarrheal medicine, triple antibiotic cream, hydrocortisone cream, migraine headache medication, vitamins, and children’s vitamins.

NOTE: The team is not allowed to bring gummies or gel caps into Cuba, so please ensure your Medicine donations are in capsule or pill form.

You are invited to attend a listening session hosted by Justice Together.

Justice Together is an organization of faith communities in Sedgwick County that are working together to improve the lives of the underserved in our county.

Several members of Grace are team leaders within Justice Together and are looking for about 40-50 Grace members to get involved by discussing “what keeps me up at night” regarding injustice and suffering in our community.

The feedback from these meetings is used to determine Justice Together’s key issues for the coming year.

If you would like to learn more about what Justice Together does, we would love to have you attend one of the following listening sessions:

Twice a month, we have our middle school WYLDlife club at Grace. Every Wednesday, we have our Grace youth fellowship evenings.

One thing both fantastic ministries have in common…food.  One of the many ways Jesus brought people together was through the sharing of food. Eating together as a community is a spiritual and life-giving experience. If you can donate food, time, or money, this will go a long way in supporting our youth ministries.  For WYLDlife, it is usually pizza and a small dessert for around 30 – 35 kids and leaders.

For the Wednesday Fellowship, it is a dinner for approximately 15–20 people.  If you are interested, please get with the Director of Student Ministries, Kirk Anderson, or email him at kirk@mygpc.org.
