yellow bags

Yellow Bags May 2022

Each month we invite you to participate in ‘yellow bag’ giving. This month our yellow bag donations go to the Refugee Team for their support of refugees through the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

As Wichita continues to receive refugees, the IRC prepares kits for their homes. Receiving these kits provides a warm welcome and helps the new residents stretch their limited money. This month we invite you to bring cleaning supplies and paper towels.  This is our focus, but there are more needs, and if you are interested in supporting this in a larger way, contact the church office.

Thank you to everyone who participates in this much needed mission of Grace.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Renovations

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Renovations

Our Jacob’s Learning Ladder (JLL) directors Emily Stoltz and Nancy Morrow have worked hard to apply for and receive multiple grants in the last 12 months.  These grants have allowed for upgrades to the JLL facilities.

Below are before and after pictures of classroom windows as well as children’s bathrooms. Teachers report that the new windows are not drafty, and it is fun to see outside. The bathroom sinks now have two sinks instead of one in each bathroom, and hand washing time has sped up considerably.
