Faith is a Verb.  That’s our worship theme for the fall.  What does it mean?

Each Sunday this fall we focus on a different aspect of discipleship. Discipleship is active. Following Christ is something we do.

If we’re not intentional, it is easy to stop living lives of discipleship, not because we don’t want to but because we get busy with other things.

Each Sunday this fall focuses on a word, a way to do discipleship.  During September, we look at verbs ‘practice,’ ‘follow,’ and ‘wrestle,’ and how they relate to the ways we ‘do’ and live our faith.

In October, we start with the word ‘plant.’  Then we spend five weeks looking at verbs from the Lord’s Supper: take, bless, break, give, and feast.  Our series concludes with the word ‘worship’ and finally ‘stop’ on the Sunday before Advent.

Come to worship this fall ready to engage with scripture and ready to examine your life for the ways you are, or could be, living out your faith.

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community.  This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is a weekend we meet the Friday before.  Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 7 am in the Grace alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 8 am.

Recently the bus schedule changed, and so in September we’ll hold our communion service at 7:40 am in the chapel.  All are invited to worship.

We can always use volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and ticket distribution.  Want to help?  Contact Kirk Anderson, kirk@mygpc.org or 684-5215.

Grace Laundry Love started in February of 2015.  Since then we’ve paid for approximately 1100 loads of laundry for brothers and sisters in Wichita.

At our September Laundry Love we’re not only doing laundry, we’re also eating pizza.  We did this last summer, and guests were appreciative of the extra hospitality.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience Laundry Love, this is the Sunday to stop by and see it in action.  We’ll be at College Town Laundry at 3223 E 17th St, by the WSU Campus on Sunday, September 11, from 2:30-5:30 pm.  We pay for three loads of laundry per person.

This is a mission of our evangelism team, and we’d love for you to join us.
