On May 14, we welcome our friends and neighbors from Watermark Books back to Grace. We host Watermark for an author event with Sue Monk Kidd. We are excited for the chance to welcome the community to Grace. This is a ticketed event, but we have free tickets available. Contact Catherine Neelly Burton at the church office, 684-5215, for more information.

On Wednesday, April 29, and Thursday, April 30, our north parking lot transforms into a bike route. Students from Jacob’s Learning Ladder will bring their bikes and trikes and zoom around the lot for the morning.

Have you been visiting with us at Grace? Would you like to know more about our church? Come and learn more about us and ask your questions. We’ll have a get to know Grace, class on Sunday, April 19, from 10 am – 10:45 am in Room 101, off of the Great Room.

On March 17, 2015, the Presbyterian Church USA (of which Grace is a part) ratified a change to its constitution. This change allows but does not mandate that PCUSA ministers may perform same sex weddings, and PCUSA congregations may hold same sex weddings. Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton shared information about this in an electronic letter to the congregation.

In response to this constitutional change, the Grace Session (governing body) invites you to be part of the conversation. The session will hold three listening sessions. These sessions are designed to be a place where you can come and share what you think about these changes and listen to others. These sessions are designed not as debates but as opportunities to listen and speak. The listening sessions are as follows:

  • Tuesday April 14, 6-7 pm, Grace Room 205
  • Wednesday April 15, 6-7 pm, Grace Parlor
  • Sunday April 19, 4-5 pm, Grace Alcove

Several members of the Session will be present at each session. You are also welcome to talk with them or Catherine individually.

Thank you! This church would not exist if it weren’t for volunteers, and we want to say thank you. If you’ve ever volunteered at Grace then this dinner is for you. Whether you volunteer once a week or once a year, we want to say thank you. Join us for dinner on Wednesday April 22 at 6 pm in the Great Room. We’ll provide the main dish, and you’re asked to bring a side dish to share. Your staff will take care of all of the set-up and clean-up.
