On Sunday, April 19, at 2 pm, we host the Wichita State Student Association for Interfaith Dialogue for a panel discussion. Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton sits on the panel as well as representatives from the Jewish and Muslim communities. The topic of the panel is, The Purpose of Worship and Prayers within Each Faith Community.

(This event was originally scheduled for March but was postponed because of snow.)

Join us the morning of Saturday, April 25, for Love Wichita. What is Love Wichita?

Each year thousands of volunteers representing churches all across the city join together in an attitude of service and love, to share the love of Christ in our city. This year we will once again have the opportunity to resurrect our city as we clean, paint, touch and transform the place we live and encourage the people we encounter in the name of Jesus. Hundreds of projects, all around town, are planned for completion.

God is calling us to “seek the peace and prosperity of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7) and to answer his call, we’ll continue to partner to complete service projects throughout the area.

Love Wichita is a multi-church effort to show some love to the city. Grace will again join with this amazing program. Ron Brown is serving as our coordinator and has us signed up for a variety of projects (that will fit a variety of skills).

We want you to participate; people of all ages are welcome. You can register at the table near the coffee bar on Sundays in April.

This summer the Grace youth travel to North Carolina for their mission trip. This is the biggest number of youth and adults to make a mission trip in many years, which is fantastic. It also means that there are additional costs. Because of this, the youth are doing a new fundraiser.

You’re invited to sponsor miles for their trip. The trip is roughly 1800 miles, and it is $2 to sponsor a mile. For instance, for $20, you sponsor 10 miles. If you want to contribute, look for the youth on Sundays by the coffee bar, or call Kirk Anderson in the church office, 684-5215.

We’re hosting Watermark Books for an event on March 24, at 6:30 pm, in the Great Room. The author is Lisa See, and she’ll be reading from her new book China Dolls. This is a ticketed event, but we have free tickets. If you’d like a ticket, please contact Catherine in the church office, 684-5215.

Laundry Love begins on March 8. On that day, from 3 – 5:30 pm, we’ll be at the College Town Laundry, 3223 E 17th Street North to share some love with our community. We’ll pay for laundry for everyone who brings clothes during that time. It’s an exciting way for us to be in the community, to get to know new people, to offer a blessing, and to hopefully help make someone’s life a little bit easier.
