Watermark Books at Grace on March 24

We’re hosting Watermark Books for an event on March 24, at 6:30 pm, in the Great Room. The author is Lisa See, and she’ll be reading from her new book China Dolls. This is a ticketed event, but we have free tickets. If you’d like a ticket, please contact Catherine in the church office, 684-5215.

Laundry Love: March 8

Laundry Love begins on March 8. On that day, from 3 – 5:30 pm, we’ll be at the College Town Laundry, 3223 E 17th Street North to share some love with our community. We’ll pay for laundry for everyone who brings clothes during that time. It’s an exciting way for us to be in the community, to get to know new people, to offer a blessing, and to hopefully help make someone’s life a little bit easier.

Sunday Morning March Schedule and Preaching Schedule

  •  9 am Worship in the Great Room
  • 10 am Education and Fellowship (see below)
  • 11 am Worship in the Sanctuary

Worship at 9 am is in the Great Room. It is led musically by our band. The style is less formal than the 11 am service. The 11 am service is in the Sanctuary and led musically by our choirs. The style is more traditional.

Here’s where you will find education and fellowship opportunities at 10 am.

Children

  • Grace Kids Grow meets from 10-10:50 am. An adult must sign each child in and out of Sunday School. A nursery is available all morning from 8:50 am – 12:15 pm.
  • Preschool children meet in room B7 (in the basement)
  • Kindergarten – 2nd grade meet in room B10 (in the basement)
  • 3rd grade – 5th grade meet in the Tower Room (on the 2nd floor)

 Youth

  • 6-8th graders meet in the Youth Center (downstairs)
  • 9-12th graders meet in the Youth Center (downstairs)

 Adults

Chapel Class

  • March 1-22            Lent Study on Forgiveness
  • March 29               No Class

 Room 206 (The Windjammers Room)

Exploring Forgiveness: Meets in Room 101

This class is taught by Scott Randle and others. It’s designed for people who are interested in learning more but perhaps are newer to taking church classes as adults. It meets for five weeks, through March 22.

Digging Deeper into Forgiveness: Meets in the Legacy Lounge-Room 201

Kelly McFall leads this class, and it is designed for people who’ve done some Bible study in the past and know they enjoy challenging faith questions. It meets for five weeks, through March 22.

Room 205 (Cruisers)

The Cruiser Group meets at 9:45 am for group time, and then they go to other Sunday School classes.

Parlor (not a Sunday School class but come and go fellowship)

If you’re not looking for a Sunday School class, grab a cup of coffee, a snack, a newspaper, and have some fellowship time.

Sunday Morning Preaching Schedule for March

March 1   

The scripture for the day is Matthew 5:38-48 and Psalm 103. Catherine preaches, and we cleebrate the Lord’s Supper at both services.

March 8  

This is the third week in our forgiveness series. The scripture for the day is Colossians 3:12-17, and Catherine preaches at both services.

March 15     

Catherine preaches this Sunday, and the scripture for the day comes from Matthew 18.

March 22 

This is the final Sunday in our Lenten study on Forgiveness. The scripture for the day is Genesis 50:15-21. Catherine preaches at both services.

March 29   

This Sunday is Palm Sunday. The 9 am service in the Great Room is led by a group of church members who’ve spent weeks in preparation. The 11 am service in the sanctuary is led by the choir. They sing an extended work based on the Stations of the Cross and are accompanied by keyboard and cello.

Interfaith Dialogue: March 1

On Sunday, March 1, at 2 pm, we host the Wichita State Student Association for Interfaith Dialogue for a panel discussion. Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton sits on the panel as well as representatives from the Jewish and Muslim communities. The topic of the panel is, “The Purpose of Worship and Prayers within Each Faith Community.”

Jacob Learning Ladder Mom’s Night

Tonight we welcome Jacob’s Learning Ladder children and their moms/grandmoms/aunts/etc for Mom’s Night at Grace. This fun night of games and activities is a favorite tradition.
